Customer Review: How lucky we are that there are humans who dedicate their time/life to bridging the gaps to understanding the differences (and similarities) between species. My regret... is: not meeting Alex. I believe Irene's book is the next best thing.
Customer Review: This is a "laugh out loud" book.....one of those that you really hate to read the last page.....from ducks to turkeys to parrots...and yes...even baby starlings....you'll fall in love with the family and their "feathered zoo".
Customer Review: I should have read the reviews...not the item description. These are "ideas" that I could have come up with on my own and saved $20. You can get better ideas on the internet.
Customer Review: Sandy Roth is a one-of-a-kind when it comes to birds. Her information is presented in a natural, vey believable manner and hers is a very easy read. She offers solid tips and her instructions are common sense and right to the point. This book is a must have for anyone interested in taking care of... more info
Customer Review: The book was most certainly worth the money. As a newcomer to the world of poultry keeping, it was both easy to read and well laid out for easy reference, detailing everything you could need to know on a husbandry level. A definite for anyone thinking of taking on the challenge of chicken... more info
Customer Review: I enjoyed this book, but the title is a bit misleading. Not only is the last flight of the scarlet macaw not on the horizon (there are tons of them in south america), but there is very little about the bird in the book. Having said that, the book is lively and very illuminating as to how... more info
Customer Review: A quick read about a fascinating bird and his trainer. I wanted more from the author, but what she presents is worth the time. She is, after all, an academic and some of that shows in this book. I want to know about her follow up work. If Alex was representative, wonderful as he was, he should have... more info
Customer Review: I almost didn't buy this book due to one unfavorable review already on Amazon. I was concerned that it would tell me I was wrong to own parrots. It does not do that; but it does provide a wealth of information that I've never read anywhere else. The author is a reporter, not an advocate for the end... more info
Customer Review: I agree with the positive comments about this book by other reviewers, but I wanted to add that the photography and typographical layout of this book are wonderful! It is a great book to have on a coffee table--beautiful and wholesome.
Customer Review: Book arrived in less than perfect condition.
The white cover was mudged with dirt and extra care
should have been taken in handling the product when it
has a light cover. It was purchased as a gift and
looks used.
